Abstract

In particular, the article refers to the brilliant specialists of YSC, Professors of the Theory Department Robert Atayan, Sergey Koptev and Rafael Stepanyan. Each of them stood out for their interesting teaching methods, unique thinking and methodological principles. The aim of the present article is to familiarize the young generations with those noteworthy methodological principles, forever strengthening bright memories of the abovementioned theoreticians.

Author Biography

Karine Azat Jaghatspanyan, Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan

Musicologist, theorist, music critic, PhD (Moscow, 2001), Honored Artist of Armenia (2013), YSC Professor (1995). She graduated from the Theoretical Composition Departure of YSC (1966), completed her postgraduate studies at the All-Union Research Institute of Art (19771980 Moscow). In 1966-1993 she was the responsible secretary and chairwoman of the Arts Department of ABCN. In 1975-1983 she was a freelance correspondent of the Moscow All-Union magazine "Soviet Music" (currently "Academy of Music"). From 1977-1989 she was the chairwoman of the monthly seminar "Problems of Modern Music" at CU of Armenia (Supervisor: Goshovsky V.A). In 1983-1991 and 1996-2013 she was Deputy Head of the musicological section of the Composers' Union of Armenia. From 1998-2013 she was a board member of CU of Armenia. Since 2001 she has been member of the Academic Council of Yerevan State Conservatory and since 2003 also of the Academic Council of the Institute of Arts NAS RA. In 2002, 2003, 2007 she was member of the Commission for the award for the employees of literature and art. She was author of the first Armenian monographs on national musical rhythm, and also of the numerous articles (about 80) dedicated to the various issues of music art and composer creativity, which were published in republican and international media and scientific publications (about 100). The books by her include: "Rhythm of the National Speech and Music" Yerevan, 1986, "On the Trail of the Rhythms of Folk Music" Yerevan, 1999, "From the Life and Works of Armenian Composers" Yerevan, 2012. She organized a series of articles about Armenia published in the journal "Academy of Music" (N 1, 2005). She participated in various national and international seminars, conferences, symposia, and congresses.
