Abstract

Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Professor at Yerevan State Conservatory, pianist Villi Vahan Sargsyan.- “Great in Everything”.The article by pianist, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia, and Professor at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory Villi Vahan Sargsyan presents the musician's memories of the outstanding violinist Avet Karp Gabrielyan. It recreates the emotional atmosphere of his concerts and conveys unforgettable artistic experiences associated with Avet Karp Gabrielyan s solo and ensemble performances. V. V. Sargsyan s recollections cover events that took place at the Dilijan Composers' Creativity House during the summers of the second half of the 1960s.

Author Biography

Villi Vahan Sargsyan , Yerevan State Conservatory

(born in 31.12.1930, Yerevan) - pianist, professor YSC. He graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory as a musicologist (prof A. Barsamyan, 1954) and as a pianist (prof. K. A. Malhasyan, 1958). He is laureate of the festival and the Transcaucasian Competition, Honored Artist of Armenia (1978). Villie is YSC Professor (1986). He trained more than 90 graduates of the YSC, including winners of international competitions. Head of the Department of Special forte-piano # 3 (1992- 2000). He had concerts in Armenia, the republics of the USSR, Hungary, Bulgaria, France, Lebanon, Yugoslavia and as a soloist with numerous thematic concerts. The first performer of a number of works devoted to him by Armen Harutyunyan, V.Balyan, S. Aghadzhanyan, M. Kokzhaev, L. Chaushyan and others. He has performed in ensembles with Jean Ter-Mergeryanom, MedeaAbrahamian, is a member of Piano Trio (V. Sargsyan - L. Mamikonyan - D. Gevorgyan). He has performed with orchestra (conductors Valery Gyorgiev, M.Maluntsyan, M.Teryan, L. Chknavoryan, Niyazi, H. Sanja,r and others). He has records on the Radio of Armenia. Villie is an author of treatments and arrangements for piano fragments of ballets by Khachaturian, songs of Komitas, V. Balian and others. Author of musicological works, journal articles and publications in scientific collections (over 30) on the history and theory of Armenian piano art, Komitas, A. Adamyan, reviews in the press. Editor of more than 20 books on art.
