Abstract

Senior Researcher of the Institute of Art NAS RA, PhD of Art, Lilit Robert Artemyan. - “Valuable contribution to conducting Art. Yuri Davtyan”.The article reviews the book "Pages of a Diary. A Centuries-old History" authored by Professor Yuri Davtyan, anhonored and talented conductor, Honored Artist of the Armenian SS,R which was posthumously published in 2024by the “YSC Publishing House ” of Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas with the support of Sergey ArmenSmbatyan, PhD in Arts, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia and an honorary graduate of Yuri Davtyan's class. For the first time, Yuri Davtyan's autobiographical book-memoir has been comprehensively studiedand presented, and the primary sections of it have been considered, such as "Pages of a Diary. A Centuries-old History" and "Autobiography in Jokes," as well as the appendix. The book summarizes the results of the extensive professional experience in the field of conducting.

Author Biography

Lilit Robert Artemyan, titute of Art NAS RA

PhD in Art History. In 2007, she graduated with honors from the Piano Department at Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory (Professor Anahit Bogdanyan’s class). In 2011, she completed her post-graduate studies at Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory, specializing in Musical Arts (supervisor - PhD in Art History, Professor M. Kokzhaev). In 201,2 she defended her thesis at the Institute of Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia on "Performing Challenges in Piano Works of Armenian Composers Written in Compositional Techniques of the 20th Century" (supervisor Ph D in Art History, Professor M. Kokzhaev) and was awarded the academic title of PhD in Art History (2013). In 2015, by decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and with the financial support of the Youth Foundation of Armenia, the monograph " Performing Challenges in Piano Works of Armenian Composers Written in Compositional Techniques of the 20th Century " was published, as part of a young scholars support program. Lilit Artemyan’s research interests include Armenian new and contemporary music. She has presented papers at national and international conferences. She is the author of a monograph and about 45 scientific articles.
