Abstract

The article discusses some unique methodological features of YSC professor Robert Atayan's course. Among the methodological principles that he used were: development of historical-analytical skills; ability to transform the smallest professional information into special knowledge; diversity of possibilities in comprehension of historical-theoretical knowledge of music, coordination of priorities, related to the current study problems in Armenian national music.

Author Biography

Hasmik Hayk Harutyunyan, Gyumri Branch of Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory

Musicologist, PhD in Arts, Docent. She has graduated from YSC (1987, prof. Robert Atayan 's class). In 2005 defended a PhD thesis on Armenian medieval music. She has worked as a researcher at Kumairi Historical and Architectural Museum. Since 1997 she has been working as Academic Secretary at the Research Centre on Armenian Studies of the NAS in Shirak. She has spoken at republican and international conferences on Armenian music. She is the author of fifty-six scientific articles and a monograph (Music in Armenian Bibliography in 5-15 Centuries). In 2018 she has been appointed Director of Gyumri Branch of YSC.
