“Orpheus and Eurydice”

Abstract

Honoring the glorious 100th anniversary of the Yerevan State Conservatory, the Lazar Saryan Opera Studio presents for the first time in Armenia Orpheus and Eurydice by C. W. Gluck. The premiere performances were held on July 16, 17, 19, and 20, 2021. Hasmik Papyan, Artistic Director of the Opera Studio, had invited both singers from Armenia and Armenians living abroad to take part in the production. The Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and Balmanukyan Dance Project were invited to collaborate on the project. Two casts took part in the performances, produced by the choir and soloists (students and graduates) of the Yerevan State Conservatory.
