Abstract

Conductor, tar player , professor of YSC, Honored artist of RA, winner of the international festivals competitions Hovhannes Asatur Darbinyan. - “Memoirs, articles, reflections”. We represent a selection of author's articles, memoirs of the eminent person of the Armenian culture, the thinker, talented conductor and the tar player, the pedagogue Hovhannes Darbinyan about the Armenian conductors - chorus masters, singers, great writers, performing art.

Author Biography

Hovhannes Asatur Darbinyan, Yerevan State Conservatory

(15.06.1940-Beirut, Lebanon-30.12.2016-Yerevan, Armenia), 1946 repatriated. He graduated from YSC's departments of Performing Arts ad Folk Instruments. From 1980 till the end of his life he taught in the class of tar in YSC. Since 2004 he has been a professor. He has worked as a soloist and director of Armenia's choir company (1969-1972). Since 1993, Head of St. Etchmiadzin Cathedral Choir. Many years he has been a soloist of RA Radio and Armenian Philharmonic choir whose repertoire includes folk, ashugh, spiritual melodies from Komitas' works. He is the author of the textbooks which refer to music and Armenian musicians.
