Author Biography

Frederick Adam Sienkiewicz, Vanderbilt University

(b. 1981, Westfield, Massachusetts, USA). Earned degrees in trumpet performance at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (B.M., 2005), New England Conservatory of Music (M.M., 2007), and Boston University (D.M.A., 2019) and has taught as trumpet professor at Gordon College (Massachusetts), Keene State College (New Hampshire), Plymouth State University (New Hampshire), and coached chamber music at the prestigious Boston University Tanglewood Institute (Massachusetts). Since 2014, Sienkiewicz lives near Nashville, Tennessee and currently teaches Musicianship (solfege) at Vanderbilt University, directs the Madison Street Brass Ensemble, and performs as a regular member of both the Jackson Symphony Orchestra (Tennessee) and Owensboro Symphony Orchestra (Kentucky), and serves as a substitute with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and Nashville Opera. He has presented recitals or lecture-recitals about the life and music of Alexander Arutiunian at Boston University, Vanderbilt University, Nashville Public Radio, and the International Trumpet Guild Conference.
