The role of music and musical instruments in Armenian everyday life

The article is dedicated to the role and significance of musical instruments (folk and classical) in the life of the Armenian people, especially in urban life. In addition to a brief historical overview, a parallel is drawn between the lifestyles and cultural interactions of a number of folk and classical instruments, some facts, oral memories and reflections are presented. The bibliography documents the active process of research and publication of folk instruments at present.
