Abstract

With interesting polyphonic transitions, layering the speech, the author presents the multi-layered activity of Araksi Sarian, one of the best musicologists, widely known in Armenia and the Diaspora. And in parallel, the paper offers a polyphonic theme as a thesis - topic 1: Martiros Saryan as the owner of the house in his house museum, topic 2: Ghazaros Saryan as husband and YSC Rector-composer, topic 3: YSC Department of Music History, topic 4: Music editor at RA Radio and Television, topic 5. "Armenian Quintet", topic 6: Armenian Hostess, an perfect housewife, topic 7: Public figure. 26 happy years at YSC.

Author Biography

Armen Gevork Budaghyan, Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory

(b. 5.11.1936, Yerevan) - PhD in Arts (1970), Honored Artist of RA (2008), Professor (1989). He graduated from the violin (1960, class of H. Bogdanyan) and musicology (in 1963, class of Prof. G. G. Tigranov) departments of YSC, completed a postgraduate course at Leningrad Conservatory (1967, supervisor: G. G. Tigranov). He worked at the Department of Music History of YSC, first as a teacher (since 1967), then as head of the department (1978-1982), and at Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography (since 1994), he worked as an editor and lecturer of the Armenian Philharmonic and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia (since 1963). He is author of a number of works in Armenian, including "Violin Sonata in Armenian Music" (1984), "Hrachya Bogdanyan" (1994), "Alexander Chaushyan" (1995), and in Russian: "Karp Savel Dombayev" (1996), "Violinist Hakob Vardanyan" (1998), "Avet Gabrielyan at the beginning of the creative path" (1999), "Vahe Aharonyan" (2001), "Willy Mokatsyan" (2002), "Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory-85" (2008), "Dmitry Nikolay Lekger" (2012), "Zaven Vardanyan" (2013), "Zareh Sargsyan" (2014), "Konstantin Melik-Vrtanesyan" (2016), "Anna Mnatsakanyan" (2017), and co-author of the work "Wilhelm Sperling" (2016), also in Russian.
