Abstract

Docent of YSC, PhD Candidate Valentin Khachik Tovmasyan. - “Love towards the country above all”. Article is devoted to the eminent person of the Armenian culture on the homeland and in Diaspora (Iran), to the conductor, the composer Loris Chqnavoryan. The characteristic of his conductor and composer's activity in Armenia from 1988 to 2000 is mentioned in the article. He was the first performer of many compositions of the Armenian composers, due to him in difficult 1990th years the Philharmonic orchestra of Armenia could keep about 10 year existence and began to be called National philharmonic orchestra.

Author Biography

Valentin Khachik Tovmasyan, Yerevan State Conservatory

was born in 1937, December 17 (Yerevan, Armenia). He graduated from the 1958 trumpet class of Renowned Artist of Armenia Ashot Karapetian at the Brass section of Melikian Sate Musical College. He taught the trumpet and theoretical subjects at Meghri School of Music 1958-1962. He graduated from the Brass section at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. He was in the trumpet class of Honoured Artist of Armenia Michael Khachatrian (1967). In 1962-1968 Trumpet player at the Jazz Orchestra of Nairi Cinema, Yerevan. In 1962-1968 he was a teacher of music and aesthetics, and Choir Conductor at Yerevan secondary schools N32 and N73. 1964-1968 Trumpet player at the Yerevan Brass Band of Yerevan Municipality, performing in over 100 concerts. In 1967-1977 Trumpet player with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Armenian State Committee for Television and Radio, making numerous recordings and performing in over 200 concerts. In 1978-1989 he was a Lecturer on "History of Wind Instruments Performing Art" and "Methodology of Wind Instruments Performing Art" at the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute. 1977-2006 he was an Observer, reviewer and senior editor at the Armenian National Radio Company’s Music Department, authoring more than 4,000 radio programs. He also made 120 radio programs for Moscow’s Ostankino Radio and 250, for VEM Radio Company in Yerevan. For his work, the National Radio Company awarded him the "Golden Pen" Special Prize (2005). Since 1992 - Lecturer of "History of Wind Instruments Performing Art" and "Methodology of Wind Instruments Performing Art" at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory’s Department of History, Theory and Pedagogy of Performing Arts. Since 2000 - Executive Secretary of the Musical Armenia Journal. Since 2004 - Head of Publishing Department of the Yerevan State Conservatory, Editor of the Musician newspaper and the Conservatory’s collection of educational and methodological articles. 2004 Published his first book called "Contour of Life. Michael Khachatryan".In 2004 Awarded the title of Associate Professor at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.In 2011 Awarded the degree of Doctor of Arts by the Institute of Art of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, for doctoral thesis on "Orchestral Brass Instruments and Performance in Armenia".In 2011 Published his second book called "Brass and Wind Instruments". T. has written numerous scientific reviews and participated in national and international scientific conferences. He has published over 1000 scientific, analytical, critical articles and reviews in “Sovetakan Hayastan”, “Soviet Art”, “Yerekoyan Yerevan”, “Avant-garde”, “Hayreniqi Dzayn”, “Fine Art”, “Friday”, “Yeterum e Yerevan”, “Yeter”, “TV-Channel”, “Channel”, “Ararat”, “Musician”, “Interlocutor”, “Yerazhshtakan” “Hayastan”, “Musical Academy” (Russia), “Grakanutean yev Arvestner”, “Shirak” (Syria) and other periodicals. T. has been a Member of the Journalists Union of Armenia since 1981 and the Armenia Theatre Workers Union since 1960.
