Abstract

In Komitas' music and educational work, the idea of the necessity of developing and implementing a purposeful musical education system occupies a special place. It is known that already during his studies in Germany, Komitas has considered the systematization of professional musical knowledge and skills particularly important. Throughout his career, he nurtured the idea of creating a national conservatory and developing a training programs. Due to historical events, these plans were never implemented.
This articles introduces the conception developed by Komitas for establishing a conservatory. The prerequisites and motives for his move to Constantinople are considered, covering the whole range of Vardapet's activities during that period of his life.
