Abstract

The article is a reflection of the outcome of two international conferences held in 2022 at the Gyumri branch of YSC, organized in the format "Scientific readings". On April 30, 2022, a scientific conference was held in Gyumri, which was dedicated to honoring the centenary of YSC Professor, PhD in Art, Honored Artist of Armenian SSR Education Margarita Harutyunyan, an exceptional musician and educator. The conference featured an array of presentations that evaluated the historical role and significance of the musicologist's life and scholarly legacy. Her multifaceted pedagogical and scientific activities, as well as her significant contribution to Armenian musicology were highlighted. On November 12-13, 2022, tof YSC hosted another notable international scientific conference with the theme "Apinyan Readings. Modern Problems of Traditional Music". The event was jointly organized by the Shirak Center for Armenian Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and the Gyumri branch of YSC. The conference served as a tribute to the memory of Hasmik Apinyan, a distinguished musicologist and folklorist, and it marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Gyumri branch of YSC.

Author Biography

Nvard Alexander Yeghoyan, Gyumri Branch of Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory

Musicologist. She graduated from the Department of Musicology, Yerevan State Conservatory in 1994 (class of Prof. PhD in Art History M. G. Harutyunyan). Since 1998, she has been teaching at the Department of Music Theory at Gyumri Branch of Yerevan Conservatory. Since 2015 she has been working as an educational coordinator at Varduhi Art School under the Oyumjyan Charitable Foundation. She has participated in Republican and International conferences. She is author of 20 scientific papers, among them "Prominent Figures of YSC: Margarita Harutyunyan (dedicated to her 100th anniversary)" ("Musical Armenia" 2 (61) 2021).
