Abstract

The article is a review on lectures held by scientists from Armenia at Leningrad Conservatory. Doctor of Art Studies N. Tagmizian held a series of lectures on history, aesthetics, theory of Armenian medieval music for students, postgraduate students, teachers of the Conservatory. Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Music Theory of Yerevan Komitas Conservatory, PhD in Art, S. Sargsyan introduced Leningrad residents to the creative achievements of the modern Armenian composer school.

Author Biography

Tatyana Vladimir Braslavskaya, St. Petersburg Conservatory after N. A. Rimsky Korsakov

From 1966 to 1971 she studied at the Theoretical and Composers' Faculty of Leningrad Conservatory. Leading pedagogues: P. A. Vulfius, V. N. Alexandrov, A. L. Ostrovsky, S. L. Ginsburg, F. A. Rubtsov, G. G. Tigranov, A. N. Dmitriev, G. G. Belov, A. I. Climovitski, E. A. Elinson and others. Her diploma work was supervised by Prof. S. L. Ginzburg. She was qualified as a musicologist, teacher of historical and theoretical disciplines. In 1972 she was enrolled in the postgraduate course of Leningrad Conservatory, which she completed with honors in 1975. In 1980 she defended her thesis "Shota Rustaveli and Music" (scientific supervisor: Prof. S.L. Ginsburg). She is author of more than 50 scientific and methodological works. For more than 40 years she headed the Cabinet of History of National Musical Cultures, created on the initiative of Professor Semen Lvov Ginsburg. In parallel with her pedagogical activity (lectures for students of the Composers' and the Musicology faculties on the course "History of National Composer Schools"), she works with postgraduate students, assistant trainees of SPSC, also she is included in the research sector of the Conservatory.
